1)PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
are prepared from sound, mature fresh apricots which have been washed, cut, pitted, sulfured for color retention, and air dried to remove the greater portion of moisture and the product is inspected throughout the process to comply with good commercial practice, yielding a clean and wholesome product which meets all standards for human consumption, including compliance with provisions of Food Safety Regulations.
2)PHYSICAL
A. color shall be reasonablly uniform and characeristics of the varieties.
B. flavor shall be sweet to tart, typical of the variety, and free from off flavors.
C. defects- the produce shall be reasonably free of defects as defined by the FSR grades of dried apricots.
D. sizes - this product is available in:

3)CHEMICAL
A. moisture content shall range within 20-24%.
B. sulfur dioxide content shall range 400-600ppm for EU and 1200-1500ppm for USA and AUSTRILIA.
C. for natural apricots (unsulfured) - moisture 18-20% and no sulfur.
4)PACKAGING
prodcut shall be packed into corrugated carton cases containing 12.5 kilos.
5)STORAGE
Best: 32- 40 degrees F
Good: 40- 60 degrees F
Not recommended: over 80 degrees F
6)APPLICATIONS
Fillings, pastries, snacks, nutrition bars, cookies, cereals, dry mixes, granola, apple butter, trail mixes. Alternative to fresh, frozen or canned apples.
